OFFICIAL RULES OF THE SOUTHLAND CREDIT UNION DIGITAL BANKING ALERTS SWEEPSTAKES
DETAILS OF THE PRIZES AND HOW TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES ARE CONTAINED IN THESE OFFICIAL RULES. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THE SWEEPSTAKES. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE THE CHANCES OF WINNING.
The Southland Credit Union (“Southland”) Digital Banking Alerts Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") is open to Southland Members who are legal residents of California and at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Employees, officers, directors, and independent contractors of Southland Credit Union, and their respective successors, participating client financial institutions, prize suppliers and advertising and promotional agencies, and each of their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, representatives, officers, directors, shareholders and employees (collectively, the “Released Parties"), and each of their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, and siblings, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) and individuals living in the same households of each of these individuals, whether related or not, of the above are not eligible to enter or win.
Sweepstakes Period. The Sweepstakes begins on March 19, 2025 and officially ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on April 30, 2025 ("Sweepstakes Period").
How to Enter the Sweepstakes. Visit SouthlandCU.org and enroll or login to Southland Digital Banking. Enable the following alerts: Online Banking Access, Debit Card Purchase, Automatic Withdrawal, Automatic Deposit. Southland Members who enroll by April 30, 2025 at 11:59 pm PST will be considered Sweepstakes entrants (each such Southland member, an “Entrant”). Alternate Entry Method: Enter by mail. Send a 3”x 5” index card with your first and last name, date of birth, complete mailing address, phone # and email address to Southland Credit Union, ATTN: Marketing Dept., 10701 Los Alamitos Blvd. Los Alamitos, CA 90720. On the index card indicate the name of the Sweepstakes. Any incomplete entry received will not be entered into the Sweepstakes. A person may only mail one entry throughout Sweepstakes Period.
Prize Drawings, Amounts, and Odds of Winning: There will be ten (10) winners (each, a “Winner”) of the Sweepstakes selected from Entrants during the Sweepstakes Period. Each prize amount is $200.
The decisions of Southland, including the selection of Winners, are final and binding on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Odds of winning depends on the total number of Entrants during the Sweepstakes Period.
Winner Notification, Awarding of Prize, and Tax Reporting. After a Winner of a Prize is selected, they will be notified by email, and the Prize will be deposited into the Winner’s Southland primary savings account. Each Winner is solely and fully responsible for any and all applicable federal, state, city, and local taxes (including income and withholding taxes) on the value of their Prize, and, if applicable, will be issued an IRS 1099-MISC tax form for the value of the Prize.
Limitations: Limit one (1) entry per Southland Member during the Sweepstakes Period. Limit one (1) Prize per member for the Sweepstakes Period.
Disqualification. Each Entrant represents and warrants that his/her entry conforms to these Official Rules and understands that Southland, in its sole discretion, may disqualify the entry for any reason, including if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the entry fails to conform to these Official Rules in any way. Southland in no way promotes illegal acts, and any and all entries which include or promote illegal acts will be disqualified. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means or by any mean which subverts the entry process are void. Any attempt by any Entrant to obtain more than the allowed number of entries per member by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations, logins, and/or any other methods will void any entry by that Entrant and could result in disqualification from this Sweepstakes and/or disqualification from all future sweepstakes by Southland and at Southland’s sole discretion. Entrants who disable alerts after the Sweepstakes Period are subject to forfeit their prize.
Agreement to Official Rules. By entering the Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements and the decisions of Southland, which are final and binding. Entrants agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, actions, injury, loss, or damage of any kind, including but not limited to, personal injury or death, resulting, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participating in this Sweepstakes or from the acceptance, possession, or use, misuse, or nonuse of a prize. This limitation of liability is a comprehensive limitation of liability that applies to all damages of any kind, including (without limitation) compensatory, direct, indirect, or consequential damages; loss of data, income or profit; loss of damage to property; and claims of third parties. Entrants agree that neither Southland, nor any of the Released Parties has made or is in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, statutory, express or implied (including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, title, and fitness for a particular purpose), in fact or in law, relative to the Sweepstakes. Southland makes no warranty with respect to any prize or any part thereof. Prizes depicted in promotional packaging or otherwise in connection with this Sweepstakes are for illustrative purposes only and may not represent the actual prizes that are awarded. Each potential winner may be required to complete a confirmation letter. Southland will not be responsible for any undeliverable or returned documentation. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded. Released Parties are not responsible for technical, computer, mechanical, printing, typographical, human or other errors relating to or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Sweepstakes, the processing of entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any Sweepstakes-related materials; or for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, inaccurate, undelivered, delayed or illegible entries or postage-due entries or mail; or for electronic, computer or telephonic malfunction or error, failed to enter into the processing system, or are processed, reported or transmitted late or incorrectly, or are lost for any reason including computer, telephone, paper transfer or human or other error. As a condition of entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree that: (a) under no circumstances will entrants be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrants hereby waive all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; (b) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or the prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (c) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred and in no event shall entrant be entitled to receive attorneys’ fees or other legal costs. Southland reserves the right to modify prize award procedures.
General Conditions. Southland reserves the right to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes for any reason, including, but not limited to, if fraud or any other factor impairs the integrity of the Sweepstakes or Southland’s ability to award Prizes as determined by Southland in its sole discretion. Southland's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that or any other provision.
