Devices equipped with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay allow you to send money and make purchases, all with your mobile device. Cashless payments with your mobile device make it easy to make purchases online, in apps, or in stores.

You can still expect the same rewards, benefits, and securities that come with your Southland Visa when you use Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay to make contactless in-store and in-app purchases at participating merchants. See how to set up your Southland credit or debit card on your favorite device below.

Apple Pay

  • On your Apple mobile device, go to Settings, then Wallet & Apple Pay.
  • Tap Add Credit or Debit Card.
  • Review the information on the next screen and tap Continue.
  • Position your phone over your credit or debit card to allow the camera to read the card information, or enter the card information manually.
  • Review the card details on the next screen, then tap Next.
  • Enter the card expiration date and security code, then tap Next.
  • Review the terms and conditions, then tap Next.
  • You may be prompted to call Southland Credit Union to verify your card. If you are presented with the Card Verification screen, call 800-426-1917.
  • Once your card is verified, it will be available to use in your Wallet app.

Google Pay

  • If you don’t already have Samsung Pay installed on your phone, download it from the Google Play Store or Galaxy Apps.
  • Tap Samsung Pay.
  • Tap Start.
  • Review the terms and if you agree, select “I have read and agree to all the items above.”
  • Tap Next.
  • Register and confirm your Samsung Pay PIN.
  • To add your Southland card, touch credit/debit cards.
  • Align your card to fit inside the frame on the screen or enter your card information manually.
  • Review the terms of service and then tap Agree to All.
  • Select an option to verify the card and enter the verification code.
  • Tap done.
  • You may be prompted to call Southland Credit Union to verify your card. If you are asked to verify your card, call 800-426-1917.

Samsung Pay

  • Make sure your phone is running Android Lollipop (5.0) or higher.
  • Download Google Pay from the Google Play App Store
  • Open the Google Pay app and follow the setup instructions.
  • When you’re asked to, add a card and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • You may be asked to set up a screen lock on your Android device. Google Pay works with PIN, pattern, password, fingerprint, or retina scanning screen locks. It won’t work with screen locks like Smart Unlock or Knock to Unlock.
  • To make purchases in stores, make sure your device has NFC and that NFC is turned on. Your phone must also have HCE.
  • If you have another in-store payment app on your phone: In your phone’s Settings app, make Google Pay the default payment app.
  • You may be prompted to call Southland Credit Union to verify your card. If you are asked to verify your card, call 800-426-1917.
